- Construction Guide
Once the roof slab (lintel) is cast and the electrical conduits and plumbing pipes are properly installed within the walls, the next critical stage in the home construction process begins — wall plastering. This stage not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the home but also serves multiple functional purposes.
At 92 Homes, we approach this step with the same attention to quality and precision as every other phase of construction.
Why Wall Plastering is Important
Wall plastering is not just a decorative layer; it plays a vital role in:
- Creating a smooth and uniform wall surface
- Protecting the structure from moisture, insects, and weather damage
- Providing a base for paint, wall tiles, or other finishes
- Sealing electrical and plumbing work neatly within the walls
How We Start the Plastering Process
After the completion of electrical wiring pipes and plumbing lines, and once the systems have been tested (including pressure testing for plumbing), our plastering team begins work. Here’s how the process flows:
🔹 Step 1: Surface Preparation
- All walls are cleaned of dust, oil, and debris.
- The wall is slightly wetted to improve bonding between brick and plaster.
🔹 Step 2: Mixing the Plaster Material
We use a standard plaster ratio of 1:4 — one part cement and four parts clean, fine sand.
For areas with higher moisture (like kitchens or bathrooms), a stronger 1:3 ratio is used.
Waterproofing chemicals (like Sika or Cico) are often added in wet areas or exterior walls to resist water absorption.
🔹 Step 3: Application of Plaster
- A base coat is applied over the wall using a trowel.
- The plaster is leveled using a plumb line or straight edge.
- A final smooth coat is added for a uniform finish.
- For exterior walls or special finishes, textured plaster or double-coat methods may be used.
Plastering with Precision – Maintaining Perfect Levels
At 92 Homes, one of the most important aspects of plastering is maintaining perfect alignment and level throughout the house.
- We ensure that every wall, door frame, and window opening is perfectly vertical and aligned.
- Special care is taken around door and window frames so their shape and fit are not affected by uneven plaster.
- Tools like spirit levels, plumb bobs, and laser levelers are used to make sure everything is in proper “guniya” (right angle and straight line).
- This guarantees:
- Smooth door operations without friction
- Window frames that are straight and secure
- Wall finishes that are flat, even, and visually flawless
In short — our plastering isn’t just strong, it’s geometrically precise. Because we know that perfection lies in the details.
Step 4: Curing
Once plaster is applied, curing is done daily with water for 7 to 14 days, depending on the weather and thickness. This helps prevent cracks and ensures long-term strength.
